The name of the work is the poem’s graft, ASTRAL DISSONANCE SAUERKRAUT, 2005, of the poet Demetrius Lucas. My relationship with Demetrius is the result of my immersion within the Institute Nise da Silveira. Demetrius is one of the customers of the workshops of the Museum of Images of the Unconscious that through practices like: drawing, painting and writing, serves patients with mental disorders.
The encounter with this great artist, of dense poetic and plastic production reflected in the name of the series, was the inspiration for the production of the same, which is to develop in an autotelic way, that is, free way building, no more worrying about the final object, if scoring only by the movement of the seam that starts on the node and extends, entering inside out and out the front, out the front and inside out, back to the node.
It is from this “oroboro movement”, charted by the needle that is possible to sew, interpret and re-mean the squalid objects found along the way. Taking advance, through “anthropophagic” ways, these ordinary objects that surround us, sewing some sort of assemblage, where every work of the series takes a proper composition, which alludes to archetypes.
